Through my image creation, I think about the reimagination of photography through old and new photo processes. The 4x5 and the digital camera have a wealth of history behind them and how they came to create images all over the world. Recognizing the power images have to shape how we see and are seen is fundamental. Within the photos, I create a new space of imagining by looking deeper into the construction of photography. I was inspired by the James Webb Telescope photos and the process of creating amazing photos of galaxies we can not see. It was wild for me to find out that the original photos from space that the James Webb Telescope takes are black and white and then edited with specific colors and infrared technologies for scientists to learn more about space!
