Within my installation, I explore the disconnect between the human and non human and recontextualize the image to prioritize the collective ecological system within the landscape.In a decolonial attempt to photograph the landscapes in the United States, specifically in the Midwest I compose my photos within quilt block patterns that contextualize the visual imagery in a way that makes the viewer create new connections and relationships to the natural world. I also am inspired by the history of the Barn Quilt in the Midwest and how we can reimagine the Barn Quilt in our landscapes today.
